Exam Prep
Our son used the blue books for OLSAT and the yellow books for BSRA. He got 99th percentile, which is eligible for both district Gifted and Talented Program (at 90th percentile and above) and the Citywide Program (97th and above).

Some Tips we use:
1. I introduced these prep books as game books.( Kids always associate anything related to games as fun)
2. He was told that he will be allowed to play the "game books" only when he behaved well. (He has an impresseion that this is a kind of reward)
3. For the above 2 items to work, parents have to make it fun when your child practices the game books.
4. Don't be frustated if your child does not know the answer even when you think it is super easy. As long as it is fun. They will remember it.
5. He will get "Good Job", "Excellent", "Awesome" for every question he got it right and he will get "Almost", "Good trying", "Good thinking" for every question he got it wrong.
6. Make notes of the area your child got it wrong. Create your own games related to that topics.
7. Don't stress out. Think like this "Whether he/she will do well on the test or not at least we will have a good quality and family time."
8. He will get one new toy after the exam day regardless of the result. I took him to ToysRus and gave him 3 to 4 options to choose from. He got wooden train tracks to expand his existing train system.
9. Enjoy the new toy with your child (We both really enjoyed the new train tracks).
